Staff training workshop on Performance Management System
Dormaa East District Assembly on Wednesday September 16,2026 organized a staff training on Performance Management System to improve capacity building of individuals and organizational performance. The session focused on performance management within the Local Government Service, service delivery standards, professional conduct, teamwork, accountability and the effective achievement of institutional objectives.
District Chief Executive, Hon. Osei Owusu King in an opening remark, emphasized that the central objective of the workshop was to improve performance at both the individual and organizational levels. He encouraged staff to stay active in deliberating issues affecting work and collectively identify and resolve ways of improving the overall outcome of their activities. He noted that the overall Assembly’s success is a collective achievement by both management and staff and should create a sense of pride among all.
The DCE further encouraged staff to promote peace and cordial relationships among themselves, stressing that a peaceful working environment is necessary for effective service delivery. He urged staff to listen attentively to the facilitators during the training and accept their guidance to improve duty productivity.
The District Coordinating Director, Mr. Raphel Dodzi Sorkpor also addressed staff and highlighted the need for commitment to work and improved professional conduct. He called for 100 percent timely submission of staff appraisals and encouraged staff to strengthen teamwork and collaboration. According to him, effective teamwork was essential to achieving the objectives of the Assembly and promoting professional growth among staff. The DCD also stressed the importance of providing faster and more efficient services to clients. He noted that the quality and timeliness of services provided to the public were important measures of the performance of staff and the Assembly as a whole.
The main facilitator, Elijah Ofori-Badu, Esq. of One-Time Lobbying Consultancy Ltd in Sunyani treated various subtopics under Local Government Service Performance Management as well as the main organ, Local Government Service which covered Code of Conducts, Conditions of Service and Human Resource Operational Management among others. He urged all staff to visit the Local Government Service website and read to get insight on their duties.
