Dormaa East District participates in a two-day national sanitation exercise.

The Dormaa East District Assembly took part in the nationwide two-day sanitation exercise directed by Government to promote environmental cleanliness and reduce flooding.Across communities in the district, government workers, traditional leaders, market women, transport unions, assembly members and residents joined hands to clean their surroundings. The team cleared choked gutters, desilted drains, swept streets and collected refuse to improve sanitation and public health.

Addressing participants, DCE Hon. Osei Owusu King said the exercise aligns with Government’s agenda to build a clean and healthy environment. He called on residents to embrace sanitation as a lifestyle and take part in the monthly National Sanitation Day exercises.According to the DCE, desilting gutters will ensure free flow of water, reduce mosquito breeding, and help prevent floods. He added that assembly members have been tasked to mobilize their communities, and that more groups will be engaged to boost participation in future exercises.He commended everyone for their commitment and quick response to the call to keep Dormaa East clean.
