Dormaa East District Sports Committee Inaugurated

The Dormaa East District Sports Committee was officially inaugurated on Thursday, January 22nd, 2026, at the Assembly Conference Hall. The committee, comprising seven members, was sworn in by the District Chief Executive, Hon. Osei Owusu King.

The Regional Director of Sports, in his remarks, outlined the committee’s key responsibilities, including identifying talents and raising sports stars for the district and nation. The newly appointed Chairman, Nana Oppong Yeboah Benjamin, pledged to work collaboratively with members and stakeholders to advance sports development in the district.

The District Coordinating Director extended his laudatory messages to all newly sworn in members and entreated them to work collectively to ascertain a proper working environment to ensure due diligence. He then advised them to work closely with the District Assembly to ensure development of the Dormaa East District Sports Committee.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by key officials, including the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Raphael Sorkpor, and other dignitaries.

The committee is expected to work closely with the District Assembly to develop sports in the Dormaa East District.
