Dormaa East District Assembly gains community trust and new pickup donation.
The Dormaa East District Assembly’s commitment to hard work has earned significant external recognition, resulting in a pledged donation of a pickup vehicle from a prominent individual. This announcement headlined this year’s first staff durbar, held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, where leadership balanced praise for the Assembly’s reputation with a firm call for improved workplace ethics.
Addressing the gathering, the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Osei Owusu King, emphasized that the Assembly’s hard-earned public trust must be protected through consistent professionalism. He urged staff to operate with greater self-motivation and proactiveness, noting that high-performing employees should not require constant supervision to fulfill their mandates.
The DCE encouraged staff to voice workplace challenges through their respective heads of department since management remains dedicated to addressing concerns to maintain a productive environment. He emphasized that attendance at all official durbars is mandatory, and those absent without valid reasons will be required to provide explanations.
Addressing workplace ethics and productivity, the District Coordinating Director (DCD), Mr. Raphael Dodzi Sorkpor, raised critical concerns regarding a decline in work ethics, specifically citing issues with lateness and unauthorized early departures. He described the current trend as alarming and called for an immediate shift in attitude to restore organizational discipline.
He expressed appreciation for the active participation of the staff and reaffirmed management’s pledge to foster a conducive working atmosphere; while challenging every employee to remain proactive and utilize their time meaningfully, even in the absence of assigned tasks
To improve productivity and conducive working environment, the following “Other Matters” were deliberated upon:
- Infrastructure Repairs: The need for an urgent attention to rectify the poor drainage system causing unpleasant odors near office spaces.
- Staff Welfare: The need for the formation of a dedicated welfare committee was proposed to better manage dues and support systems.
- Subordinate Motivation: A call was made for senior officers to provide better encouragement and support to subordinates to boost morale.
