41st Farmers’ Day Celebration
The Dormaa East District Assembly proudly celebrated the 41st Farmers’ Day celebration on December 5th, 2025, at Kyeremasu – Nananom park. The event was a testament to the district’s commitment to promoting agriculture as a key driver of economic growth and development.
Distinguished guests, including the Honourable Member of Parliament, Honourable District Chief Executive, and respected traditional leaders (Nananom), inspect vibrant display of farm produce on display.
The theme “Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana, Secure the Future” resonated with the audience, emphasizing the importance of supporting local farmers and promoting food security. The Director for the Department of Agriculture, Mr. Gilbert Tuah expressed gratitude to the MP, DCE, and DCD for their continuous support and commended farmers for their resilience despite challenges.
Dormaa East District’s Farmer of the Year 2025
The Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. Racheal Ama Owusuwaa, commended farmers for their hard work and dedication, encouraging the public to prioritize locally produced foods.
The District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Osei Owusu King, urged the youth to venture into commercial farming, emphasizing the importance of eating locally grown foods.

The celebration recognized outstanding farmers, with Nikiema Mariama from Alikrom taking the overall best farmer award. The event served as a reminder of the critical role farmers play in ensuring food security and promoting economic development. The Assembly remains committed to supporting the agricultural sector and promoting food security in the district.
