Historic Sod Cutting Ceremony Marks New Era for Nsesresu Community.

The Dormaa East District Assembly officially kicked off the construction of a 3-unit classroom block with a staff common room at Nsesresu on December 10, 2025, with a sod cutting ceremony. This milestone event signifies the official commencement of the project, aimed at improving educational infrastructure in the area.

During the ceremony, the team paid a courtesy call to the chiefs and elders of Nsesresu, who warmly welcomed them. In his remarks, the chief expressed gratitude for the project but urged the Assembly to involve traditional authorities in future planning and decision-making processes. He, however, accepted the current project location while emphasizing the need for improved communication.

The sod cutting ceremony was performed jointly by the chiefs of Nsesresu and Asuhyia, symbolizing the start of this critical project. The chiefs also appealed for the establishment of a health facility to alleviate the pressure on the nearby Wamfie hospital. The headmaster of the school highlighted the need for a pumping machine and a teachers’ bungalow to support staff from distant communities.

The Assembly member for the area expressed appreciation for the project’s allocation and submitted a written document outlining his concerns and requests. We are committed to addressing these needs and improving the lives of our people.
