MP FOR DORMAA EAST SECURES MASSIVE INFRASTRUCTURE BOOST FOR DISTRICT
The Member of Parliament for Dormaa East, Hon. Rachael Owusuaa, has announced a series of significant infrastructure projects successfully lobbied for her constituency.
Speaking at the final District Assembly meeting of the year on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, Madam Owusuaa revealed that her personal lobbying initiatives have secured several road and educational projects beyond the standard government allocations.
While every constituency received a standard 10-kilometer road allocation from the government, the MP’s proactive engagement has yielded additional tarred roads for several communities of her constituency. Residents in Wamanafo to Kobedi/Asupra to Dormaa Akwamu, Sabikrom to Amanfi, Wamanafo to Preprashed to kofiboukrom to Issakashed to Gambia are set to benefit from these improved transport links, which are expected to ease travel and boost local commerce.
Investing in Education and Sanitation
The MP’s “lobbying initiative” has also focused heavily on the education sector. Hon. Owusuaa disclosed the construction of nine different six-unit classroom blocks across nine communities: Dormaa Akwamu Methodist basic school, Amanfe DA basic school, Kofiansukrum DA primary, Tenasua DA primary, Sunuroase DA primary, Kofiboukrom DA primary, Kobedi Asupraa RC JHS, Preprashed DA basic school, and Kofi Nti DA basic school.
To ensure a holistic environment for both students and staff, each of these school projects being funded by GETFund comes with six-seater toilet facilities and dedicated teachers’ bungalows.
The District Chief Executive, Hon. Osei Owusu King, also addressed the house, offering his Christmas and New Year well-wishes to the staff and assembly members. He used the occasion to outline ongoing and completed projects, praising the “divergent views” that have come together to move the district forward. He disclosed to the house the District Assembly Common Fund project across various communities in the District: Construction of a 2 unit classroom block with office and store room for St. James Primary at Wamanafo, Construction of a 3 unit classroom block with staff common room and an office at Nsesresu, Construction of a 3 unit classroom with an office, store room and staff common room for SDA primary school and renovation of health center and inspection of the burnt Methodist school all in Dormaa Akwamu, and Construction of a CHPs compound with two staff accommodation, male ward, female ward , OPD, dispensary and a lab at Praprababida.
HE commended the staff and assembly members for their comportment and collaborative support, the DCE stated, calling for continued unity to ensure the sustained growth of Dormaa East.
