On Wednesday, 16th-18 February of\u00a0 2022, a 3 day cleanup exercise was organized by Environmental Health Department of Dormaa East District Assembly in collaboration with some participant from NADMO,\u00a0 Gyenyame and Mansen Unity Association in Asushae and Wamfie, Assemblymen and Zoomlion Ghana Ltd. at various towns in the district.<\/div>\n

The exercise took place at the Wamfie ,Asuotiano ,Wamanafo, Akontanim, Dormaa Akwamu , KYEREMASU and others main road and inner township that needed cleaning.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The Environmental Officer and his staff, and the other identify groups gathered all the materials needed for the clean-up.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The 3 days exercise was aimed at ensuring that shoulders of the high ways, schools, streets among other public places of the town’s and district capital are clean and hygienic.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The exercise included the cleaning and picking of polythene bags, weeding, sweeping, gathering and disposing of refuse etc.<\/div>\n

The volunteers were offered gloves, boots for protection and also brooms, rakes, shovels, wheel barrows, cutlasses etc. to ensure that the exercise was done effectively without any health problems.<\/div>\n

Speaking with pupils at Wamfie Presby Basic schools, Hon. Emmanuel Kofi Agyeman said cleaninness is next to Godliness and advocate much on the need to keep their surrounding clean and tidy, he further admonished them not to throw rubbish indiscriminately to prevent diseases.<\/div>\n

After the exercise, Mr. Marvin Boateng, the Environmental Officer thanked all the volunteers for such a wonderful job they put in place during the clean-up exercise.<\/div>\n

He also plead on the citizens to make a behavioral change to keep the environment clean and prevent any form of communicable diseases.<\/div>\n
